Diapers, Doctor & surgery, Oh My!
I know it's been awhile since I've posted but my life was recently uninterrupted by surgery. Nothing serious, just some issues my Dr and I had been trying to solve for too long and the final option was surgery so I decided to just go for it.
I'm recovering nicely and hope to be back to my old self again soon.
That covers the "Doctor" and "Surgery" part of the title and I'm sure you are all wondering where "Diapers" fit in.
And no I'm not wearing them nor did I! (you are evil, y'know?)
Right around the same time as my surgery vacation, I was asked to review Luvs new diapers.
From their site:
Luvs, a trusted name in baby care, provides parents and caregivers
with a diaper that offers premium leakage protection for less than the pricey brands.
Luvs diapers now feature Bear Hug Stretch – a premium diaper feature at no extra cost. Currently, no other value or
store brand diaper brand offers as much stretch as Luvs.
• The new side tab stretch feature that provides the snug-fitting, leakage protection of a premium diaper at no extra charge
• Blue Leakguard Core that helps to keep leaks in their place
• A great fit that helps prevent bunching and sagging
• Reinforced leg cuffs for a comfortable fit
• All over cloth-like softness like the pricey brands
• Available in sizes 3 through 6 (July); smaller sizes, including newborn and sizes 1 and 2 will be introduced in December
• While Luvs does not set retail prices, we expect the price of a 40-count bag of Luvs to be about $7.97 to $8.97
When I agreed to try them out I had no idea that I would get a full size package. THANK YOU ANDREA!
I've been asked to sample products before and have always been disappointed in the amount of the product sent. In order to get a good review from me you first have to send me enough product so I can try it out in many different situations.
So needless to say, right from the get-go Luvs is looking good.
I had tried Luvs when my son was first born but for some reason he would wet through them (and almost all other brands) all the time. Now that he is older (2 this month) it was the perfect time to try them out.
My first impression on opening the package was that they look and feel very nice. I love the elastic around the legs (some companies go a little overboard with the elastic) and the blue leakguard covered a good portion of the inside.
I put one on my little guy and the stretchy tabs worked wonderfully. Then the real test came. Would he be able to run around all over and do the crazy things he does and still have the diaper stay where it started?
You betcha! he's recently started trying to "help" mommy by taking off his diaper to let me know he wants to be changed.
Every. 20. min.
Geez kid, chill.
The velcro closure is a bit stronger than other brands so they slow him down a bit plus I can hear him pulling on the tabs from the other room.
We haven't had any "wet-thrus" and the diapers hold up well with the day to day ventures of a toddler.
So my final verdict is this:
Luvs are great diapers for a very reasonable price. Your basically getting a "premium" brand diaper at store brand prices. I recommend you go and try out a package and see what you think.
What have you got to lose? They offer a Leakguard guarantee on their website. If you are not satisfied you will get your money refunded. Check out the details here!
It's a Win-Win in my book.

Good thing they did something. The ones I got last year were terrible.
